WHAT IS A NOISE CUT TRANSFORMER (NCT) ?
NCT is a sort of transformer developed to cut off noise rather than to decrease or increase voltage, the general function of transform. Transformer is a device used to move energy between the electrically insulated primary coil and the secondary coil using the magnetic core as a medium. When energy is moved, the passing frequency is restricted according to the characteristics of the magnetic substance, shape of winding and the shielding structure. NCT is an effective noise filter structurally designed in a way that it, fully using such characteristics of transformers, lets 50 or 60Hz commercial AC power pass from the primary coil to the secondary coil without any loss, but does not allow EMI high-frequency noise component in the 10KHz~30MHz domain to pass. Compared with the existing Noise filter featuring a non-insulated structure which is not classified into primary and secondary coil, NCT has the primary and secondary coils which are divided into input and output maintaining perfect electrical insulation, while load is electrically insulated from the source of noise. For this reasons, this system is widely used by the precision equipment or medical containers sensitive to noise, large PLC requiring high degree of reliability, robots, NC equipment, semiconductor equipment and communication equipment.
